5th anniversary ceremony for AMDA Peace Clinic

On 20 November 2014, the ceremony to celebrate the 5th anniversary of AMDA Peace Clinic in Bodhgaya (Bihar State, India) was held at Isshin-ji Temple and at AMDA Peace Clinic (APC). From its inauguration, APC had provided Ayurveda therapy to tourists from abroad and local society and used the profits to offer free medical services to local communities in the vicinity who are economically disadvantaged.

In August 2014, the Clinic started the new project of maternal and child health. As a part of the project, one local nurse and one clinic staff visited 50 households in Piparpati village until last October to investigate living circumstances of villagers and provided necessary advices to pregnant women and infants during their home visits.

The honorable guests of the ceremony included the Trust members of the Clinic, a priest and followers of Nichiren Buddhism, 20 visitors from Japan, the president of AMDA Group and AMDA members.

During the ceremony, the priest of Nichiren Buddhism gave a prayer for development of the Clinic, and sweets donated to the Temple were distributed to local children. Board members of the Trust held a meeting on the same day and exchanged opinions and ideas for future development of the Clinic and its activities.

In the morning of 21 November 2014, a planning meeting was held among AMDA members and the Clinic staffs. AMDA officials visited the leader of Piparpati village to discuss social and economic situation of the village.
