AMDA Signs MOU with Health Sciences University of Mongolia

On Sept. 7th 2010, AMDA concluded the Memorandum of Understanding with Health Sciences University of Mongolia (HSUM) for the establishment of partnership. This MOU is a formal recognition of understanding for mutual cooperation in their joint pursuit for world peace under the two parties' basic spirit, "Sogo-Fujo"-a Japanese traditional term for mutual assistance. AMDA and HSUM will cooperate together toward the unified goal; the welfare of the people on this earth with medical care. The collaborative activities between two parties will include, 1) participation in the AMDA Multi-national Medical Mission, 2) participation in the Multi-national Emergency Care Mission for Disasters, and 3) exchange program and research development.

Beside the signing of the MOU, AMDA, in collaboration with HSUM, has established Suganami Scholarship in Mongolia, a scholarship program for medical students that are in need of financial assistance. It was a memorable experience for Dr. Suganami in meeting with the scholarship recipients where he handed the bursaries in person. It was indeed a touching moment for all to see the faces of the youths determined to walk the paths of life as doctors. Dr. Suganami sincerely hopes that the students would someday reciprocate what they were given in the form of contributions to the development of medicine in Mongolia.

As AMDA recgonizes Mongolia's potential role in the entire Asia region, it is greatly expected that the both parties would work together for the better quality of life of the people.
